Established in 1880 as a small oratory school, Emerson College has evolved into a multi-faceted institution that is internationally recognized for excellence in its fields of study. Emerson remains the only comprehensive college or university in America dedicated exclusively to communication and the arts.

The college boasts one of the most successful student run radio stations in the country, WERS. Broadcasting throughout New England and streaming online throughout the world, WERS's award-winning programming combines an eclectic mix of musical genres and more live performances than any other radio station in the region.

WERS recognized the benefits of running an auction online and contacted cMarket as they prepared for their annual fundraiser. They used their strong ties to the Boston area to secure items such as"2 Season Tickets to the SpeakEasy Stage Company" and"VIP Treatment Day at the Museum of Science". They also used cMarket's own online consignment store to add desirable items that their bidders were eager to purchase. In fact, the item that received the highest bid was a"New York Broadway Package" that was supplied by cMarket Place. Rounding out their catalog, WERS included a number of music related items from"Studio Recording Time" at the radio station which raised over $400, and an"Ari Defranco Complete Back Catalog" that earned $345 for the station.

In addition to presenting desirable items that appealed to their donating community, WERS also took full advantage of cMarket's email communications tool. They sent out close to 20 unique emails to their listeners and supporters to alert them of new items and to promote their auction. At the close of this year's annual fundraiser, WERS raised over $5,000 for the Emerson College radio station through their cMarket online auction.
